Also Recommended for Merchandise Production! Original Printing with the Latest UV-DTF System – A printer that freely “applies prints” even on curved surfaces, supports various materials, and is ideal for decorating finished products.
Mimaki’s UV-DTF system allows the printing and transfer of designs onto curved or irregular surfaces, making it ideal for personalizing finished products. The technology eliminates the need for plates and large inventories, offering flexibility and efficiency in production. The special film adheres securely to various materials, such as plastic or ceramic, opening new opportunities for merchandise production. The method was also used for a custom cup dedicated to athlete Sara Takanashi, demonstrating the versatility of the solution.
Mimaki supports ski jumper Sara Takanashi and the JUMP for the Earth project. The brand presented a printed cup to Sara Takanashi, who participated in the FIS Ski Jumping World Cup, held at the end of November 2025.
This cup is printed with the “JUMP for the Earth” project logo, launched by Sara Takanashi, using the latest UV-DTF method.
The UV-DTF method is a new printing technique that prints onto a special film and transfers the ink as a sticker onto the object to be printed.
Digital inkjet printing eliminates the need for plate preparation, ink mixing, and inventory management, allowing designs to be printed in the desired colors and in the required number of copies. Because the printing is done through transfer, the design can be easily applied even on shapes that are difficult to print on, such as curved surfaces and uneven textures.
The special film has a dedicated adhesive layer and adheres stably to various materials such as ABS resin, polyethylene, polypropylene, and ceramic, which are commonly used in finished products.
