Over 10 million colors

Using the UV LED curing method, the 3DUJ-553 can print objects layer by layer, applying UV ink using CMYK, white, and clear, with layer thicknesses of 22, 32, or 42 microns, achieving a final object of exceptional quality. UV LED curing also applies minimal heat to the object. The printer features fast startup times and low energy consumption, which reduces total operating costs.

Color profiles

The 3DUJ-553 is the world’s first 3D printer to utilize color profiles. This not only ensures accurate colors directly from the printer but also allows for the development of proofing profiles to accurately visualize color on a calibrated monitor. This guarantees precise color simulation before printing begins, saving time and reducing material waste.

By implementing a color proofing profile created by [MPM3] (optional) in Adobe Photoshop, color can be simulated and verified on your monitor. The colors of the final printed object will be realistic and closely match those displayed on the monitor. Using proofing profiles significantly reduces color adjustments, saving you precious time. Simply print the colored object in a single pass.

UV Inkjet Method

UV-curable ink hardens with the help of UV light. Mimaki technology involves the successive application of layers of UV-curable ink, one on top of the other, until the desired model is completed.

The 3D data is sliced, and printing begins simultaneously for both ink and support material until the model is completed.

Add translucency with clear ink

Using clear ink adds an extra effect to 3D printed objects, especially if they are illuminated. Combining clear inks with CMYK opens new possibilities for designer creativity.

Excellent post-processing performance

The inks used by the 3DUJ-553 contain acrylic resin, which provides hardness comparable to ABS plastic. This means that additional overcoating, drilling, and screw fixation can be performed without damaging the object. It also gives the object superior weather resistance, a smooth surface, and increased durability.

Water-soluble support material

The 3DUJ-553 uses a water-soluble support structure that can be removed by washing. Removing the support material with water allows for extremely detailed models to be realized without damaging the objects during the process.

Stable operation

Continuous ink flow is made possible by using an ink sub-tank installed in the print head. This prevents pigment settling and air bubbles, ensuring proper ink discharge. Additionally, it prevents nozzle clogging, maintains a stable printing environment, and keeps the printer’s uptime extremely high.
