UV LED Curing Technology

The Mimaki JFX500-2131 printer utilizes UV LED printing technology, which does not generate excessive heat. Thus, the equipment can print directly on a wide range of materials, including temperature-sensitive substrates, without causing their deformation.

Water-based or solvent inks normally require drying time after printing. By using UV technology, this process is eliminated, and the material is ready for lamination immediately after printing. The total execution time of the job, from printing to processing, is thus reduced, increasing workflow efficiency and productivity.

Impressive Printing Speeds

Equipped with newly developed print heads (6 print heads arranged in a 3-row staggered configuration), the JFX500-2131 printer reaches production speeds of up to 60 m²/h.

Exceptional Print Quality

Intelligent Microstepping System (IMS)
The JFX500-2131 model includes two units with high-precision linear scales developed by Mimaki, controlled through the Intelligent Microstepping System (IMS), which ensures extremely precise positioning of the print dots. The result is the reduction of the banding effect and the possibility to print even 2-point text with impressive clarity.

High Resolution up to 1200 dpi and Variable Dots
Superior image quality is obtained by using a resolution of up to 1200 × 1200 dpi and Variable Dot technology. The minimum drop size is only 7 picoliters, which allows for fine and natural gradients without a grainy appearance, even in 4-color printing mode.

Multiple Ink Options

The JFX500-2131 model can use four types of ink:

  • LUS-120 (UV LED ink) – A recently developed high-performance UV ink with high durability and flexibility, ideal for printing on flexible materials such as banners, which cannot be laminated.
  • LUS-150 (Stretchable UV LED ink) – A new formula that offers reduced curing time, a less tacky feel, and flexibility up to 150%.
  • LUS-200 (Stretchable UV LED ink) – Extremely flexible UV ink with up to 200% elasticity, ideal for applications such as car wrapping, where very high flexibility of the printed material is required.
  • LH-100 (Hard UV LED ink) – Mimaki LH-100 ink offers high scratch and chemical resistance, as well as excellent color reproduction.

Simultaneous Printing with White Ink – Underprint and Overprint

Achieve extremely colorful and bright images on transparent or colored materials using white ink for underprint or overprint, without reducing the printing speed.

  • A. 4/6 colors (without white ink) – Without using white ink as a base for overprinting, colors will not have the same intensity and clarity.
  • B. 4/6 colors + white – By using white ink as a base or top layer, images become much brighter and more vibrant, with superior visual impact.

Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS)

The Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS) effectively reduces the banding effect by using multiple print passes and a graded mask pattern. When this function is activated, the UV curing process occurs more gradually, which visibly diminishes pass lines and ensures a more uniform print quality.

Other Useful Features for Quality Assurance

  • Layout Pins for precise material alignment. The JFX500-2131 model is equipped with positioning pins and a measuring scale that simplify the alignment procedures required in flatbed printing. It is sufficient to fix the material on the positioning pins, check the position with the help of the scale, and adjust the design data or printer settings accordingly.

Layout Pins for Trouble-Free Media Alignment

  • The Nozzle Recovery function temporarily restores print quality, reducing potential downtime in case of maintenance issues.
  • Mimaki Circulation Technology (MCT) prevents the sedimentation of pigments in white ink, contributing to the reduction of ink waste.

Environmentally Friendly Technology

  • UV LEDs have a longer lifespan and consume less energy than conventional UV lamps.
  • Less material waste and elimination of unnecessary stocks through on-demand printing, directly on the substrate.
  • No disturbing odors and no excessive noise during operation.
