Features of the new SWJ-320EA
Successor to the legendary SWJ-320S4, the Mimaki SWJ-320EA is a revolutionary 3.2-meter-wide solvent printer equipped with next-generation, high-speed print heads arranged in a staggered configuration, making it possible to print large-format images for almost any outdoor or indoor application. Its functionality is further expanded by Mimaki Core Technologies, including MAPS4 and NRS, offering a unique combination of affordable pricing, high quality, and reliability.
Print quality, efficiency and profitability
Variable dot technology delivers fine gradations for high-resolution images
- To reduce graininess, the 3 optimal droplet sizes (minimum 7pl) are automatically selected depending on the print mode
- Graininess is also reduced by using the 900x1200dpi high-resolution mode, available for superior-quality printing

Optional twin-roll printing
- Doubles daily production volume with the twin-roll printing function
- Up to 2 rolls, with a maximum width of 1,524mm each
- Materials with different widths can be used
- The maximum roll weight is 100kg
- Handles different jobs at the same time: different data can be assigned to each media roll
- Both rolls must have at least the same thickness level and be printable with the same profile

Print speed
- High-speed production, with a maximum speed of 137sqm/h for long-distance viewing and 35 sqm/h (600×600 dpi) for close-up viewing

Ink supply and configuration
- High productivity, low ink consumption, and excellent cost performance
- Uses Mimaki CS100 eco-solvent ink supplied in 2L bottles (CMYK), which remains weather-resistant for three years. More affordable than conventional ink cartridges, it offers exceptional stability and a reduced tendency to clog nozzles.
- The newly developed ink tank holds max. 3L of ink per color and can be filled in one go for longer print runs with minimal intervention

Print head configuration
- 4 staggered print heads for dynamic production
- 1280 nozzles (320 nozzles × 4 rows) per head
- 4 heads with a total of 5,120 nozzles

Optimized media feed for uninterrupted printing
- The feed system for heavy materials improves operational efficiency
- The print head carriage is equipped with two media jam sensors to detect wrinkled or sagging media, preventing damage to the print heads, head strikes, or media jams
- High-precision, high-grip pinch rollers ensure stable media feeding and reduce uneven color printing caused by misalignment and banding
- Redesigned tension bar and take-up system for stable media feeding
- Constant media tension even after changes in roll diameter guarantees high-definition printing

Mimaki Core Technologies
Mimaki Advanced Pass System (MAPS 4)
- Banding reduction, even at higher speed
- Disperses overlapping ink droplets between passes, preventing uneven ink drying and bidirectional streaking
- MAPS4 operates in the higher-pass modes for each resolution, delivering stable, high-quality printing
- The operator can use parameters for the optimal speed / quality balance

Nozzle Recovery System (NRS)
- Mimaki’s NRS allows clogged nozzles to be replaced with available nozzles, reducing printer downtime, production losses, and poor image quality
- When the operator detects a clogged nozzle, the missing nozzle can be replaced automatically or manually
- Makes printing possible even if nozzles are missing
- This NRS function increases uptime and postpones service intervention

- Rasterlink6 Plus is Mimaki’s proprietary RIP (Raster Image Processor) software
- 16-bit rendering for smooth gradations
- Precise ink consumption calculation
- Twin-roll print layout
- The ability to choose multiple profiles within the same job, for testing new materials
- All information on a single screen: printer status, print job, and processing (ripping) progress can be checked at a glance
- Nesting or job composition is displayed visually
- Up to 30 settings can be registered, and frequently used settings can be marked as “favorites”
- Industry-standard PANTONE color libraries are included for the most accurate color reproduction
- Spot color control: create and manage custom spot color libraries
- Color replacement: replace colors with custom values or use values from a spectrophotometer after measuring the desired color
- Estimated completion time display
- Enhanced layout function
- Print status display
