One graphic, two viewing modes
The 5-layer print function – for example, color + white + black + white + color – can be performed simultaneously. Available exclusively on the UCJV300-160 model, this technology offers advanced printing capabilities, allowing designers to create layered graphics for backlit applications.

Thus, print service providers can offer a unique product: a dynamic graphic that changes its image or color scheme depending on the light source. This distinctive functionality enables the creation of high-impact visual materials with a premium margin, while maintaining low operational costs and shorter production times.

Integrated cutting capability
The integrated cutting function (Print & Cut) allows for volume production of labels, decals, window stickers, floor graphics, POP displays, vehicle markings, packaging, prototypes, and much more, using a single piece of equipment. Additionally, UV ink technology prevents common issues such as film separation or other defects that may occur after cutting when using solvent or latex inks.

Instant drying for immediate use

Prints made with the UCJV300 series are instantly cured, even at high production speeds. Thus, users can print quickly and move immediately to the final product, unlike other technologies that require additional time for drying or out-gassing. For many applications, UV printing with high scratch resistance also eliminates the need for additional processes, such as lamination, reducing total production time and operational costs.

White ink adds value to applications
Combining white ink with color inks on the UCJV300-160 model adds value to applications created on transparent or semi-opaque films. Compared to solvent or latex inks, UV-curable inks offer higher opacity with lower ink consumption per square meter, while maintaining color intensity and density.

High-opacity white ink also allows for block-out printing in a single process, facilitating the creation of window graphics visible differently from both sides, such as PUSH / PULL door signs. These features contribute to higher productivity, reduced waste, and perfect alignment for double-sided graphics, with lower operational costs per print.

ID Cut function in RasterLink6 Plus software
UCJV300 Series printers are shipped with the updated RasterLink6 Plus version. This advanced version of Mimaki’s RIP software includes the ID Cut function, which simplifies and accelerates print and cut processes.

The barcode, read by the crop marks sensor of the UCJV printer/cutter, contains cutting and rotation information, allowing the equipment to automate the cutting process. This function is particularly useful for nesting print-cut jobs, as the cutter continuously reads data for both individual and combined jobs.

The RasterLink6 Plus software also includes the FineCut plugin for Adobe Illustrator, which allows for a 4-layer print preview so operators can check the day/night transition effect before printing. Additionally, RasterLink6 Plus now supports PDF 1.5 and later versions.

Mimaki Core Technologies

    • Integrated Mimaki Core Technologies ensure exceptional print quality and continuous productivity:
    • Mimaki Advanced Pass System 4 (MAPS4) – uses an advanced algorithm to reduce the visible banding effect.
    • Variable Dot Printing (VDP) – uses small droplets for fine gradations and larger droplets for uniform, solid surfaces.
    • Waveform Control (WFC) – uses optimized frequencies for the density and viscosity of each ink, ensuring precise droplet formation and placement.
    • Mimaki Circulation Technology (MCT) – maintains continuous circulation of white ink, preventing pigment settling.
    • Nozzle Check Unit (NCU) – monitors nozzles and automatically activates recovery functions if problems occur.
    • Nozzle Recovery System (NRS) – automatically assigns functional nozzles when defective nozzles are detected.
    • Half Cut (HC) – a proprietary function that allows cutting the backing material, leaving a small connection point for easier handling of cut-out pieces.
    • Over Cut (OC) – performs an additional cut at the beginning and end of the contour for perfect edges without uncut fragments.
    • Continuous (C) – automatically and continuously detects crop marks for precise cutting.
    • Segment (S) – detects intermediate crop marks in the feed direction and allows four-point corrections for each segment, ensuring precise cuts even for long or slightly distorted graphics.
